Your referral code identifies you as the inviter and never changes. The invitation code is the single-use part that belongs to just one invitation.
Every invitation link you share contains both: your referral code and one invitation code. The referral code on its own is not a complete invitation, so nobody can join with it alone.
Because your referral code stays the same, all of your invitations share it, while every new invitation gets its own code with its own status and expiry date.
Generating another invitation changes only the new invitation code. Your referral identity stays exactly the same.
